EMPF has identified 223 vulnerable families of Bihar, who are in dire need of ration and other sanitation equipment.
We work directly with the marginalized in various states in India. The immediate lockdown by the government has led the marginalized population of Bihar as well as the migrant families at the verge of hunger and lack of basic necessities. The Government has announced several benefits for the families but most of these families will not be able to furnish the documents required by the government. EMPF is focusing in bringing together resources to support the most vulnerable in whichever means possible. There are three areas it has identified in providing:
1. Food – Providing Ration packets (5kg Rice, 5kg Wheat, 2kg Pulses, 1ltr Oil, 1 kg Salt, Mixed Masala and 1kg Sugar- monthly packet) for the most vulnerable families for at least three months. In particular those who are left with no income since the sole earning member of the family is in another state, unable to access resources.
2. Sanitation – Provide Masks, Gloves, Hand Sanitisers, Soaps and other sanitation equipment for those living in clusters and unable to access sanitation material. Provide women with Sanitary Napkins and Pregnant women with access to better nutritional health and sanitation.
3. Health – Provide access to urgent healthcare facilities in case of persons who are unable to sustain themselves are in need of urgent medical attention. In particular families who have been unable to gather resources for healthcare.
